In the very very beginning, God created everything- the angels, the worlds, and the human beings. There was the Assiah, the seven layers of Heaven, and the seven layers of Hell. The first angel god created was Adam Kadamon the six-winged 'serafita', who was genderless. It was said to be that Alexiel and Rosiel were the children of Adam Kadamon, so they both had 3 wings, halved from Adam Kadamon's. Alexiel and Rosiel were twins, and opposites of each other. Alexiel was the Organic Angel, female, "positive", and beautiful. Rosiel was the Inorganic Angel, male, "negative", and...well, they're twins so they look the same...

Alexiel and Rosiel were the highest ranking angels (well, maybe under Adam kadamon) in Heaven. Both beautiful and powerful. Yet God liked Rosiel more, preferring him than any other creature in heaven, while he disproved Alexiel for even having the right to live on the top layer of heaven where God lived.

Some time later, Lucifer, who was called Lucifel before he became a Fallen Angel. Lucifer rebelled against heaven and fell, and those who followed him fell as well, and became demons. The greatest ones became the Seven Satans. Each one with a deadly sin- Belial(Pride), Asmodeus (Lust), Mammon (Greed), Beelzebub (Gluttony), Astaroth ( Sloth), Leviathan (Envy) and Barbello (Wrath).

Alexiel had had a demon-sword called Nanatsusaya Mitamanotsuragi ("Seven-Bladed Soul-Sword")during her life. Which possessed the lost soul of Lucifer, whose empty body has turned into the grounds of the deepest layer of hell. Nanatsusaya was a evil sword who would corrupt all of its masters' minds, but somehow it could not control or corrupt Alexiel. For this, the sword had formed a certain bond with Alexiel. After Alexiel was judged, it moved out of the sword and went to Assiah to look after her soul by entering dying people's body who were close to Alexiel's current reincarnation. Every body that contained the soul of Lucifer will have this blood mark on its chest, from what Rosiel's blood had stained during the war between Alexiel and Rosiel.

Alexiel, who also fought against heaven, never became a demon. She formed an alliance with the race of Evils - part demons who lived in Jahannam, the top layer of Hell, and had just been attacked by a bunch of angels that almost killed their entire race. Alexiel was caught, judged and branded fallen. The reasons that were behind her rebellion were that: for one thing, she dreamed of creating a better Paradise, one that won't be ruled by God, who didn't allow Angels to love each other in a Sexual way, or have children of their own outside the laboratories where he experiments on creating the perfect creatures. For another, she was jealous that God preferred Rosiel other than her.

As for Alexiel's punishment, Uriel (the angel of death and the Element of Earth) was the judge. Because Alexiel claimed that she only loved god and no one else, Uriel, who was also in love with Alexiel at that time, out of jealousy gave her the greatest punishment of all: having her soul and body separated and the soul being reincarnated into human bodies, each one doomed to die a young, violent death.

And the latter happened.

In the feudal era of Japan, Alexiel was incarnated in the body of a young prostitute who had fallen in love with a samurai. So she decided to run away with him since her keepers would never allow her to marry him. Soon later, her keepers found out and killed the samurai. Nanatusaya's spirit came into the dying body and used that body to grant the last wish the samurai had: which was to kill the prostitute mercifully before her keepers get to her. Before fulfilling the samurai's wish, he made love to the prostitute.

This changed everything. Alexiel's life was to be ended in a violent way- her life was supposed to be intended by the courtesan's keepers. But the guardian angel appointed to her in the beginning of her soul's cycle of reincarnation, making sure that her destiny takes place, was slaughtered. After this, Gabriel, the Element of Water, was immobilized in Heaven by Sevotharte, and her soul incarnated into a completely human soul, Setsuna's sister, Sara.

This is where the Manga begins.

It starts with the typical life of Setsuna: Rejected by his mother, in love with his sister, getting into fights, but faints the MOMENT he sees blood. Kira Sakuya, Setsuna's sempai helped him in his life countless times, always cheering him up and being there when he needed him. Who was actually the spirit of Nanatsusaya.

Setsuna's classmates starts talking about a computer game called: Angel Sanctuary. Which was Katan's (He is the "son" of Rosiel, he was once a Grigori who had no sense nor body. Rosiel created a body for him and named him Katan. Katan worked his way up to the top layer of heaven in order to be close to Rosiel because he was grateful of what Rosiel did and decided to follow him. Katan eventually became a Cherubim, a member of one of the highest ranks of angels) doing for trying to reawaken Rosiel. In the game, Rosiel can talk to them and will fulfil their wishes if they help him. Soon afterwards, Sara's best friend Ruri somehow gets the CD-rom and began playing the game. The reason why she was so into this game was because she was in love with Setsuna, and the CD offered her beauty and that once Set-chan sees Ruri, he will fall in love with her immediately.

At the same time, 2 demons from hell named Kurai and Arakune came to Earth in search for the soul of Alexiel in order to lead another rebellion against heaven. Kurai was also the princess of Anagura, the leader of the race of Evils, who has stolen the crystal which preserved the body of Alexiel and has taken it to her castle to look after her. (Kurai's obssessed with Alexiel, as you can see... ~.~)

Rosiel talks to Ruri in the computer game and convinced her to give up her body, she does, and Rosiel enters the body of Ruri.

Kurai and Arakune confronts Setsuna with the story of him being the reincarnation of Alexiel, but Setsuna refuses to believe them. Disguised as Ruri, Rosiel kidnaps Sara to lure Setsuna into a warehouse, where he hass a ghoul he made out of one of Kira's juvenile friend to attack Setsuna. Setsuna is almost killed, but then a vision of Adam Kadmon appears and heals him. Rosiel cannot stand the radiance of Adam Kadmon and is about to be destroyed when Katan creates a magical pathway and pulls him into safety.

Disguised as Ruri again, Rosiel goes to Sara's house and collects data from her while she was asleep to which he can transform into Sara.

Before I go on any further I want you to know that the Rosiel we see now is the EVIL Rosiel who has already gone through the "changes". Time is going backwards for him and that the younger he gets the EVIL-er. His intentions are to destroy Setsuna and awaken Alexiel (I think...). I'm not sure what the reasons are, but I'll list what I think:

1. He wants to finish the fight that Alexiel and he started.
2. The only way to unlock the tower of Etemenaki was to for Alexiel and Rosiel chanting this spell together, and I guess he wants to free Adam Kadamon as well?
3. He wants to show off his beauty and his power to his sister.
4. Maybe he despises Setsuna (which I do too) and wants to destroy humanity just for the hell of it.

Rosiel transforms himself into Sara and asks Setsuna for a kiss. The reason for that was to make Setsuna one of his dummies by feeding him one of his feathers, in the form of a pill. The pill, of course, was in his mouth. Just before kissing Sara, Setsuna suddenly realised that the fragrance of Sara was wrong. So he stopped and asked Sara/Rosiel who she really is. Rosiel told him, and Setsuna was in shock. Katou took a picture of Sara and Setsuna almost kissing and posted it all over the school. By the way, Katou has been taken over by Rosiel as well. Setsuna, suddenly enraged, pulled out the sword, which Kira had given him in the form of an earring, and slashes katou. But Rosiel left katou's body just in time. Then kira tells Setsuna about himself, that he's only being nice to Setsuna because he is the soul of Alexiel that he only cared about Alexiel. So, Setsuna ran away, feeling hurt, upset and betrayed. But kurai explained Setsuna that Kira did care about him. And that was why he had stayed in one body for so long- he began to have human emotions (no, he's not gay) towards Setsuna.

Sara's mother, Mrs. Mudou decides to go to England where she can find a husband for Sara. Sara agrees because she knows that Setsuna and her will never find happiness. She never told Setsuna she was leaving. Kurai knew and told him to go to the airport and come back with her. Setsuna does so and begged Sara to stay, Sara does. They decided to run away together.

Some kid finds the body of katou buried in the mud and called the police. They believed that Setsuna was the killer, and went after him. They stopped Setsuna and were about to arrest him when Kira admitted that he killed Katou.

Setsuna and Sara made love in a hotel and came back because they couldn't bare the thought that their friend was in jail because of them.

At the train station, Kirie tricks them into a construction place and Kirie attacks Setsuna who is off his guard, but Sara jumps in front of him taking the hit that was meant for him and dies. Setsuna, in this time of grief releases his powers to destroy the world.

Adam kadamon came and stopped time on earth, naming setsuna as the Messiah and told him to go to the tower of Etemenaki to release him. But setsuna wants to have Sara alive again. And the only way to do so is to retrieve Sara's soul from Hades.

This is about 1/5 way through Angel Sanctuary. It's toooooooooooooooooooo LONG to write the whole thing down. And I don't have the time for it. So if you wanna know what happens later on, I suggest you go buy the Manga set. And for SURE for SURE for SURE for SURE for SUUUUUURE you will NOT regret spending your money on it.
